It is hard for me to make suggestions for improvements, as I am already very satisfied. I have had an extremely bad cough for many, many years, and due to having been treated as a hypochondriac over this cough by another surgery (NOT Medwyn) several years ago, I never brought it up again but learned to live with it. When seeing nurse Christine (re the VitD trial) I mentioned my cough, and she suggested that I should see nurse Tracey, which I did, and Tracey was brilliant - I have asthma and am now receiving treatment. I hardly cough at all now, which has improved my social life such a lot! - I sleep better as I don't cough at night, I have masses of energy now and I am very happy. Only small 'complaint' is the difficulty sometimes in getting an appointment. You probably can't do much about that. I received GreatCare from both Christine and Tracey.

It is virtually impossible to get an appointment and the situation has been the same for years. The booking system seems expressly designed to keep the waiting list look small while making life as difficult as possible for potential patients. Your receptionists have to deal with continuous calls to deal with the problem and, while they somehow manage to remain polite, have become unhelpful and uncaring. I have personally avoided or deferred calling the surgery to make appointments because I knew that I would end up in the ridiculous merry go round of early morning calls and chasing for cancellations. More than once the delay in seeing a doctor has meant that a condition got worse. I am sure I am not alone. This is not what effective care looks like.
